The Engineer within Sustaining Engineering – Knife Gate Valve (KGV) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) will report to the Engineering Manager. Involving both Order Engineering and Product Engineering related tasks, this role will support new processes to rapidly fulfil customer orders and contribute to the design of the next generation of innovative KGV products. In addition, this role will support the ongoing growth initiative to significantly expand global sales of knife gate valve products.
Essential Job Functions:
Team member on new product development and value engineering projects, assisting with designs, creating CAD Models and Drawings, BOMs, and associated documents
Review Customer technical specifications and provide support to sales team for bidding
Preparation of Inspection and Test Plans to meet Customer specifications
Technical assistance to Supply Chain for selection of new vendors
Preparation of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) specifications and process documentation to meet customer requirements
Create and maintain Drawings, Part Numbers and BOMs for Customer Orders
Degree qualification in Mechanical or related Engineering
Sound mechanical engineering skills, to include, 2 years’ experience in creation and management of CAD and associated documents for mechanical parts, preferred
Sound skills in product data management system and other software related to management of documents in a PDM environment
Knowledge of project management software/tools and first application, considered as an advantage
Proficient in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
SAP experience is an advantage
Competent written and verbal skills
Meticulous documentation skills with attention to detail is a must
Ability to prioritize work and remain focused on overall objectives
Time Management competence with the capability of meeting project schedule milestones
Interpersonal skills required to maintain a respectful and productive working relationship with all employees
Team Player and Collaborative attributes, required
