Engineer I, R&D – Critical Care-021088
The Engineer will be a part of the Critical Care Mechanical, Research & Development team working on new product designs, technology development with an emphasis on hands on new product development.
Brainstorm, assess and design to bring an idea to new product development.
Apply mechanical and biomedical engineering principles to the design and development of components and device assemblies.
Create 3D CAD models and drawings of various mechanical and electro-mechanical design in collaboration with subject matter experts on Mechanical team.
Support and drive the research, development and integration of various sensor technologies in the design and manufacture of new non-invasive and minimally invasive products.
Support the design and integration of the electro-mechanical components and sub-systems for new and innovative monitoring platform.
Develop test methods and procedures to evaluate device performance throughout the product development cycle.
Present/communicate findings to influence team/design/management
Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and procedures. Generate written protocols, reports, and technical justifications/summaries.
Work with vendors to improve vendor-supplied components and address issues as they arise.
A bachelor's degree in engineering is required. Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Prior experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
Solid problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Experience with Solidworks and quantitative analysis of data.
Ability to translate complex and technical information to all levels of the organizations.
Experience working in a dynamic team environment with strong communication skills.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to achieve results with minimal direction.
