DealerPolicy’s Platform Team is an agile team that designs, delivers, and supports self-service infrastructure & DevOps tooling to support our stream-aligned software engineering teams. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of this team and a DevOps practitioner. You will acquire a deep understanding of DealerPolicy’s Digital Insurance Solution’s features and capabilities, and work with Software Architects and other Platform Engineers to help ensure safe, speedy delivery of value to our customers.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Support the platform, technology, and software needs of stream-aligned scrum teams
Protect our platform from unauthorized access, internally and externally
Focus on automated build, delivery, deployment, scaling, and platform resiliency
Encapsulate current architecture, infrastructure, and software patterns into abstracted capabilities that engineering teams can leverage.
Understand and leverage the use of software patterns to build familiar, re-usable, and maintainable code
Collaborate with stream-aligned scrum teams to integrate automation into Azure DevOps pipelines
Participate in and contribute to code reviews and pair programming
Mentor and coach less-senior engineers on patterns and best practices.
Support the software we build, on and (sometimes) off hours
Advocate for a healthy investment mix to allow for sustainable growth
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:
5+ years of experience building software
Bachelor’s degree with concentrations in Computer Science or equivalent
Highly collaborative and communicative. Effective and professional communicator.
Strong Git skills
Strong engineering aptitude and ability to learn new tools and technologies
Comfort with unstructured and non-relational data
Strong technical aptitude, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of event-driven software architectures
Hands on experience deploying and monitoring software and serverless infrastructure in Azure (Preferred), AWS, or GCP
Provisioning infrastructure using IaC technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates
Experience building software using modern JS frameworks, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous code
Exposure to Microsoft .NET frameworks and languages including C#, Typescript, and PowerShell
Experience with front-end build processes and best practices
