Purpose of Position
This posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until position has been filled.
Why does the job exist?
This position will assist the Engineer Executive in managing the Co-ops Program. Position will be responsible for providing support and assistance to local and tribal governments in the development of local lead projects that is in the Departments six year plan, Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. Position will manage the technical side of the Local Government Road fund and the Capital Outlay program to ensure that the Department's funds are spent in accordance with the applicable specifications and standards. Position will participate with the design team in the development of projects within District Six.

By providing support to Engineer Executive and assistance in the development of local lead projects in Statewide Transportation Improvement Program & Tribal/Local Public Agency.

Traveling public, district employees, public entities and Tribal/Local Public Agency.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Tribal/Local Public Agency and project procedures.
- Knowledge of federally funded Tribal/Local Public Agency projects.
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant engineering discipline.

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Pre-employment back ground investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Business reference check and Drivers License verification are also required and employment is conditional pending results.
Work is performed in an office setting and in the field; may work extended hours and holidays if needed. Exposure to inclement weather conditions, rough uneven surfaces, heights, heavy traffic, noise, chemicals and lift between 50-100 lbs. with assistance. This position requires occasional travel with possible overnight stays, attendance at meetings; planning and attendance of inspections in the field, occasional visits to construction sites in which heavy equipment may be operating; long periods at a personal computer typing, entering data, reviewing CADD files, moderate lifting of files(less than 10 lbs.).
