GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Director, Application and Software Development, will provide leadership, strategic planning, financial governance, and operational management for IT/Data Engineering and Software Development projects which will lead to the growth, management and optimization of the software delivery process.

The ideal candidate must have delivered unified commerce solutions providing exceptional digital consumer experience. They must have extensive knowledge and experience with application and software development methodology and processes, technical project management, change management, strong organization and coordination skills to appropriately manage the competing work streams and priorities.

Create high performing team that manage software and software products from cradle to grave
Develop and deliver a compelling vision that inspires and motivates team members and business counterparts to achieve excellent results
Ensure the effectiveness of the software engineering group including resource allocation, hiring, performance management, feedback on projects and technology, and establishing realistic goals with the engineers
Build a world class leadership team that is founded on Agile beliefs and results in high performing, engaged teams
Harmonize the mix of talent within software development teams and adapt team skills to meet business objectives
Drive negotiations with multiple business stakeholders, creating a reputation for excellent customer service
Develop and evaluate new product features and user interfaces working with Marketing, Human Resources, and customers
Contribute new ideas to the business roadmap based on experience and continued awareness of relevant industry trends
Determine and implement best practices for software development and software test management ensuring maximum quality and velocity
Instantiate the optimal software development process, ensure it is followed, and manage the results to deliver maximum business value
Leveraging experts in the organization, establish and maintain an architectural roadmap that considers cost, team productivity, maintainability, and business impact
Build strong partnerships with peers in Integration, Operations and Service to ensure software deliverables meet availability and performance goals
Maintain effective processes and systems to ensure high service availability, and that any issues that arise are quickly detected and resolved
Participate and manage IT budget and project prioritization with business leaders to ensure system investments are aligned with business requirements to maximize return on investments
Partner with and manage 3rd party vendors for projects and managed services
Create and help govern against Master Data Management standards
Drive rigorous and regular product releases across the software product
Implement engineering management strategies to achieve world-class productivity and cost efficiency
Engage with the business, vendors, and product managers to ensure that product delivery obsessively aligns with customer value creation
Transform existing teams of engineers, architects, and developers into a highly effective results driven team, including upgrading and reorganizing talent as required
Deliver and refine the technology strategy, financial planning, establishing delivery plans and overseeing the execution and delivery of program objectives.
Provide strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems.
Set the vision for an environment of ingenuity and creativity and act as a role model for others in challenging the status quo to encourage innovation and bringing to life the Digital Unified Commerce
Weekend rotations

Proactively drives change, flexible, with meticulous attention to detail
Experienced with Development Methodologies and Processes such as Kanban, Scrum, Agile, Waterfall

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Core Technologies (up to current version)
Experience with Fresh Service a plus

IT-related college degree, or equivalent experience (demonstrated)
Minimum four years of Application and Software Development Management
ITIL Process Knowledge
PMP a plus
Experience supporting remote locations such as Retail
