This position is for an engineering position focused on the engineering development and/or customer assurance of HP toner printing supplies for LaserJet printers.
Specification, design, development and testing of the next generation products.
Perform technical analysis of assigned electro-mechanical assemblies using proper design of experiments and statistical methods.
Effectively communicate issues with the engine vendor OEM and successfully negotiate appropriate countermeasure resolutions.
Focus areas may include:
print quality & reliability evaluation, research of OEM and competitive offerings including print quality, cost, performance, usability, shipping/storage, etc.
1-2 international trips per year are typically required.
Education and Experience Required:
BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or an Electro-Photographic Printing System or Color Science related field.
Typically 2-6 years experience.
Strong analytical problem solving skills.
Adept at creating plans and successfully executing them to achieve program goals.
Proficiency in English
Effective communication and negotiation skills to inform and persuade peers, managers, and strategic development partners.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Ability and desire to handle a wide range of project responsibilities simultaneously.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with root cause failure analysis (measurements and diagnostics) associated with color image processing, materials properties, print process control parameters, and mechanical architecture design elements.
Experience with electro-photography and color science issues as it applies to mono and color laser printer development.
Programming experience in data collection, analysis, and plotting.
Statistical and modeling experience
OEM negotiation experience, preferably with a Japanese vendor.
