We have an opening for a Software Engineer 1 in our expanding IT Group. In this role, you will work under the direction of senior software staff to aid in the day-to-day support and implementation of various software application solutions. You will provide minimal guidance to junior software staff, maintain relationships with various internal/external customers to ensure cohesive lines of communication as it relates to potential development efforts, and work closely with various operational groups to support production software setups, troubleshooting, and initiatives.
What you’ll do on a typical day
Review, gather and gain an understanding of customer application requirements ranging from conversations and meetings, to customer/vendor implementation documents
Review customer requirements into an analysis document, representing the overall application details
Perform unit and integration testing to ensure the delivered implementation meets the given requirements/analysis
Provide support for applications and business process development as well as graphical interfaces
Provide application testing support to internal and external customers
Ensure adherence to the company’s analysis and development standards
Follow development team defined analysis and development best practices
Identify and communicate issues and proposes and implements solutions for continuous improvement
Provide training to internal and external customers
Communicate and work as needed with internal/external customers under guidance of senior engineers, leads, or management
Here are the key things you will need to have
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
3 years of Information Technology (IT) application development experience
Previous experience using Java, Cobol, or other application software
Here are some things we would like for you to have
5 years of IT application development experience
Jira or other Service Management software experience
