Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Process Engineer, The Process Engineer will participate in supporting activities in developing and executing Provivi's commercial pheromone production strategy. Initially, the Process Engineer will be responsible for implementing developed technical solutions to improve novel pheromone biosynthesis and chemical synthesis technologies at contract manufacturing organizations using provided data of detailed analysis of process steps. Process improvements include optimization of production processes including fermentation, synthesis, downstream processing, purification and other required processes.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Process Engineer, the Process Engineer will participate in supporting the implementation of various process technologies into multiple production facilities. The technologies include synthesis and purification of chemicals produced via chemistry and biosynthesis approaches. The Process Engineer will support the selection of process options using engineering analysis modelling and data analysis to recommend options for production of chemical intermediates and Active Ingredients for the product portfolio.
Later, the Process Engineer will participate in the design of a "one of a kind" commercial scale plant meeting target commercial performance and specifications. The individual completes evaluation and recommendation of assigned processing equipment utilizing knowledge of operating capabilities and limitations, process modelling, and option recommendation. The individual will work with organic chemistry and biosynthesis systems and the related downstream process systems.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Process Engineer, the Process Engineer develops, reviews and submits for Sr. Process Engineer's approval engineering documents including, but not limited to: process flow diagrams, process & instrumentation diagrams, mass & energy balances, equipment specifications and construction packages
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Process Engineer they will complete engineering calculations and suggest recommendations on process decisions necessary for plant design and operations
Participates in the design, construction, installation, and startup of laboratory, pilot & commercial process systems
Works with Provivi employees, engineering firms, commercial sites and contractors to resolve evolving technical challenges
Participates in process scale-up (fermentation, purification, process optimization, technology transfer and process validation activities) at pilot, demonstration and toll facilities
Records, organizes, and analyzes data and documents in presentation and report formatting
Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Process Engineer, develops and utilizes computer models (excel and process simulation software) to determine the effect of process changes
Maintains concise records, files and as necessary laboratory notebooks, signed and witnessed in a timely manner as appropriate
Maintains a safe and orderly work environment and ensures compliance with all safety policies and practices
