So what does a Maintenance Technician/Engineer – Electrical do?
The role of an Engineer will maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plants to optimise both reliability and maintainability (clean water). The primary requirement is for a time served/NVQ3 qualified electrician, desirably with 17th or 18th edition Electrical Regulations qualifications. Training will be given to achieve multi-skilled instrumentation. As part of this role you will expected to carry out operational duties. Operational duties will include repair, maintenance and testing of 3 phase electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives and basic motor starting. Carry out the repair, maintenance and testing of electrical installations for lighting, power and heating systems and process control systems for pump control and chemical dosing. Maintain, repair and calibrate all types of instrumentation including pressure / temperature transducers, probes, water quality monitors and multiple types of flow and depth technology (as part of multi-skilling). You will be undertaking fault diagnostics using a programmable logic controller and resolving issues in a timely manner. There will be a requirement to work a stand-by rota with a fantastic reward in return. A company vehicle will be provided along with specialised equipment to carry out operational duties.

- Significant experience maintaining electrical equipment including inspection and testing. • Significant experience working with industrial equipment (motors, starters etc.) • Experience of PLC control, ladder logic data paths and Scada type systems (desirable). • Experience undertaking fault diagnostics and resolving issues in a timely manner. • Experience working with process control systems and control technology. • Working knowledge of basic electrical installation requirements and standards. • Experience working with various IT systems. • Working knowledge of the Water Treatment Processes (desirable).
