Microwave Innovations is seeking an experienced Digital Design / DSP Engineer to provide design support for products used in wireless telemetry for Defense and Space applications.
Microwave Innovations is an industry leader in flight vehicle transmitters and receivers used to transmit telemetry and command/control between the vehicle and the ground monitoring systems used in R&D and flight launch. These products offer our customers high reliability under some of the most extreme operating environments, with high efficiency, in small form factors.
The ideal engineering candidate should have experience in FPGA and DSP related design, test, and production support of modern digital implementations of transmitter and receiver components and systems. The ideal candidate should also have experience in Verilog/VHDL and HDL design, programming languages such as Assembly and C, design analysis tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Synopsys and ModelSim. As well, it is desired that the candidate possesses knowledge of digital modulations such as Pulse Coded - Frequency Modulation (PCM/FM), Multi-Level Frequency Shift Keying (M-FSK), and various Phase-Shift Keyed (PSK) modulations such as Binary/Quaternary Phase Shift (BPSK/QPSK), Shaped/Offset QPSK and 8-PSK. Knowledge of Error Coding/Correction schemes and algorithms, such as Convolutional and Low-Density Parity Check, is also highly desired.
Design requirements will include clean-sheet designs, design trade-off studies, support of existing product designs, as well as debugging and troubleshooting of existing designs. Other engineering tasks will include PCB design process support, Bill of Material generation, production documentation support, test equipment selection and assisting in test system design, planning, monitoring, support and test data validation reviews.
