WORKING AT CALIFORNIA CLOSETS
There are many benefits to working with the Production Team at California Closets:
-4/10 Week Schedule
The installation team works 4/10 schedule. Overtime occurs as needed, which may be a late day or weekend if needed. You start and end each day at our Shop and Offices located in Tualatin off of SW Tualatin Avenue. Occasional overnights in the outer areas are necessary on larger jobs. We do everything to keep a consistent, 40-hour work week schedule, this isn't "seasonal" work. We are committed to complete a client's job as expected by end of day. As a result, this position can require you to stay/work late some evenings. You are an employee, not a sub-contractor.
California Closets customers are great to work with in design and product quality. They contact us to provide a solution to their storage needs for every area of the home and business. Our reputation for QUALITY products and skilled design prepares them to expect the best.
At California Closets, we are not a typical 'per contract' company. This position will require an individual to work between our shop and out in the field as needed, allowing for a variety of work on a daily basis and the opportunity to grow with the company. We offer health, retirement, and employee discount benefits. There is opportunity for advancement within the installation specialist position, as well as other growth opportunities in the company depending on skill set.

As you continue your career through California Closets, your skills are invested in from the company and we work together to create the best working environment for our employees. We leave only when the job is done. -
EXPECTATIONS OF THE POSITION
Our clients expect us to be the best, so expectations of performance in this position are high. The following is on brief overview of what is expected in this position:
-Problem Solving Skills
You will be asked to 'engineer' solutions both in the field and in the shop. We want to always provide the best, most efficient, innovative solutions for our clients. Part of this position is being able to do that both with preparation and time, but also on the spot in the field at a client's home as appropriate.
- Self-Drive and Pride in Your Work
It is expected that you will take pride in the finished product, not skipping corners or working around your time schedule. You will need to be driven to work independently, with minimal supervision, to hit expected outcomes within the time parameters given to complete the project.
It is critical that Installers are organized in their tools and vehicles. As we provide tools, you are expected to take care of those tools and maintain them in excellent working condition. Organization is key to delivering a correct product, on-time, and in excellent condition to the customer.
-Design & Detail Skill As part of the 'engineering' of solutions, a good eye for what looks good and QUALITY OF DETAILS is critical in this position.
-Travel & Material Handling
There is a lot of driving in this position (and traffic going home...it's Portland!), as we install at clients' homes and businesses within an approximate 4-hour territory. You will drive a company vehicle for this travel. We often need to carry material up several flights of stairs or up long driveways. You must be in shape and able to unload and carry material anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours as needed.
Your team depends on you to be at work. If you find that your nights are too late or a steady work schedule does not fit your lifestyle, please do not apply. This position requires you to be able to be successful independently, but within a TEAM atmosphere and support.
Hourly rate starting at DOQ/hour. Team members typically start between $18.00-22.00/hour. Health benefits, PTO, holidays, and 401K match are part of OVERALL COMPENSATION PACKAGE . This is a stable company and offers long-term employment with opportunity for growth. Employee discount benefits available. Training may involve travel to other franchises within the United States, typically for 1 week at a time.
Shop & Offices: 12200 SW Tualatin Ave., Tualatin, OR 97062 (this is where you start and end your day)
Design Studios: 1235 W. Burnside St., Portland, 22000 Willamette Dr., West Linn (and Bend on Newport Ave)
