Barton Malow is currently hiring for a VDC Engineer for a newly awarded project in Lordstown, Ohio. This individual will provide technical support, document best methods and processes, provide training, and may assume VDC management responsibilities as required in support of project execution onsite. VDC Engineers may also have some project responsibilities integrated with the Delivery Construction Management team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivers jobsite specific training to Barton Malow team members, subcontractors, Architects and Owners
Provides technical and process support related support for Box, Bluebeam, Prolog and other VDC supported systems as required
Sets up projects in Box, Prolog and other systems as required
Sets up models for coordination and run clash detection
Performs Model QA/QC and Quantity Take-Off
Records quantities and provides reporting from Tekla
Participates in software testing for new releases of existing software and new software
Works directly with project teams and prepare site logistics plans in Bluebeam and SketchUp and/or Revit
Creates draft BIM Execution Plan including 01370 and AE BIM Guidelines
Manages and mentors interns and/or PE 1's on company VDC standards
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (*Essential Requirements):
2+ years of experience in construction or architecture industry
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field
Ability to read drawings and specifications
Ability to meet with project teams, understand project requirements and develop project processes for file sharing, submittals, RFI's, drawings, specifications, daily reports and punchlist with limited support from senior VDC person
Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team including contractors, architects and owners. Ability to negotiate and professionally handle conflicts and confrontations.
Effective time management, organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities and work under pressure.
Strong ability to identify, track, and complete work tasks in a timely manner
Basic understanding of corporate and OSHA safety policies and emergency procedures
