The Senior Leak Detection Engineer's duties include but are not limited to the following:
Designs, implements, and maintains the database points and graphics for the Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for the Pipeline Control Center.
Designs, implements, and maintains the database points and graphics for Real-Time-Transient-Model (RTTM) applications for leak detection on Crude, Refined Products, and NGLs pipelines.
Collaborates with stakeholders to determine appropriate deliverables and necessary timing of any OTS or RTTM leak detection configuration changes.
Follows all company database guidelines, procedures, and Management of Change processes for maintaining critical application functionality.
Troubleshoot existing leak detection application configurations, performance, real-time SCADA inputs, and tuning parameters.
Monitor daily leak detection alarm counts and troubleshoot bad actors.
Analyze leak detection software performance and set appropriate alarm thresholds being aware of the tradeoff between sensitivity and false alarm rates.
Interface with control center operations, field operations, field engineering, and project managers in efforts to support and optimize the leak detection system performance.
Performs work in an independent manner as well as in a team environment as the job requires.
Is able to communicate well and quickly troubleshoot problems.
24x7 support of control center for emergencies as needed.
The successful candidate will meet
the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
A minimum of 8 years of experience of pipeline
hydraulics or fluid flow dynamics is required.
Preferred Software Experience: SPS and Iconics.
Alternative Software Experience: Pipeline Manager,
Pipeline Studio, Sim Suit, Atmos Sim, Krone, or other RTTM or OTS
C , VB, Python, or other programing languages are a
Ability to travel up to 10" to is required.
