The Quality Engineer will provide expert guidance on product design and processes as they relate to compliance with quality system requirements. Provides focused quality engineering support and assumes responsibility for timely and effective coordination and/or execution of assigned development project activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies, analyzes, and implements key quality systems in manufacturing that improve or stabilize product quality
Implements, adjusts and makes corrections to existing quality systems or processes; thought the use of Metrics, Document Control and Audit Programs
Communicates effectively with and builds good relationships with cross-functional business unit and other department personnel
Communicates and examples organizational vision and values across the organization
Resolves conflicts in a constructive way, which promotes team engagement collaboration constructive feedback and relevant next steps.
Gathers internal/external feedback and takes action accordingly
Solves problems and facilitates problem solving and process improvement efforts
Seeks creative solutions to problems and employs statistical thinking, quality tools, methods and principles
Facilitates process maps, system maps, FMEA, control plans and other informational methods
Produces professional reports, presentations, audits, statistical summaries and systems
Conducts effective training meetings and performs effective project management
Manages departmental resources wisely and fosters teamwork within the department
Sets priorities and organize tasks to achieve measurable results in process and product quality, by multiplying efforts by working through others
Takes responsibility, keeps commitments and promotes team work with peers, and organizational personnel
Serves as a liaison between facilities and advisory contact to plant managers and staff
Continually seeks personal and professional development and is cost conscious
College Degree Major Desired: Engineering or BS with 1 year of proven quality experience or an Associate Degree with 3 years of proven quality experience or HS High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of proven quality experience.
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:
Proficiency in Kronos, & SAP is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory experience is a plus.
Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, etc.)
Experience with PPAP packages, utilizing APQP
Accredited Green Belt is a plus
Shainin Red X experience is a plus
ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Lead Auditor is a Plus
