Summary/General Description of Job:
Essential member of a dynamic civil engineering team actively supporting development and sustainment processes at an active U.S. Air Force station in Alaska.Incumbent provides electrical engineering support in the design, construction, maintenance and troubleshooting of any and all facilities requirements.Leads and prepares design criteria documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security and various other special systems. Manages electrical design process and orchestrates the planning, design, cost estimating, and phased scheduling for projects.Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
ABET-certified Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university program
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Requirements Engineer in the field of electrical engineering, with demonstrated experience in support of electrical substations, distribution, building feeds and services, systems controls, fire alarm systems, corrosion control, generators, security/intrusion detection and other systems for heavy industrial/large commercial facilities
Skilled in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level
Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
Fluent in oral and written English language
Experience working on a Government Contract or on a Government Facility.
Familiar with U.S. Air Force procedures, programs, methods, instructions and resources
Knowledge of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 and its application with regard to electrical requirements for facilities and distribution systems
Security + certification
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Training/working knowledge on Edwards Fire Alarm systems, Siemens DDC systems, Honeywell Vindicator systems, Kohler Switchgear, PCL controls, SEL relay systems
