Position Title: Programmer Analyst
Position Type: Full Time
Department: ITS
Augustana University invites applications for the full-time position of Programmer Analyst in the ITS department.
As the Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for providing implementation, design, development and support for the university’s administrative system software.
The duties, competencies, and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Database Administration.
Programming and analysis.
Deploying vendor software updates.
Diagnosing and remediating software errors.
Developing documentation of standards and procedures.
Providing input and developing strategies as a part of the administrative software support team.
Providing support and training to end-users of the administrative software system.
Assisting in developing code to enhance functioning of administrative software.
Representing Augustana at national users’ conference and participating in networking opportunities.
Qualifications for this position:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent experience and training.
Experience programming in SQL.
Commitment to continuous learning in all aspects of campus technology.
Your ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as well as be available for some travel.
What you can bring to the table:
Experience working with Informix, data integration tools, Java, perl, XML, C/C+, and Google Docs.
Experience with IBM Cognos or other Business Intelligence software.
Understanding of higher education ERP privacy concerns, practices, and processes.
Experience with relational database report writing software, in Linux server and shell environments, and developing and implementing data integration strategies.
Understanding of basic accounting principles, specifically related to non-profit institutions.
Interacting with students, faculty and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respect for academic values and culture must be a top value of the candidate.
