We are searching for candidates to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) and Information Technology-Information Assurance-Information Management (IT-IA-IM) support for our client. They are responsible for all applied and advanced Research and Development, as well as the development and operation of technical demonstrations and operational prototypes. Advanced technologies are developed to support revolutionary changes and upgrades to current system operations in the conduct of the mission. Capability pathfinders are developed to inform the client on new concepts of operation, prove out new sources or methods, and explore technologies to fill mission gaps, or validate new mission areas. Specific responsibilities for this position are:
a) Assist in all phases of planning, acquisition, execution and completion of new research programs, including the preparation of acquisition, engineering, contracting action, status, and programmatic documents and advising on competitive source selections.
b) Provide technical and analytic ability to support the modeling and simulation of remote sensing phenomenologies, and innovative architectures. Provide technical and analytic ability to conduct operations research tasks needed to support modeling and simulation studies, and apply systems engineering methods to document model baselines, configurations, decision rationale, and outcomes. Support end-to-end mission modeling to support hypothesis evaluation, experimentation, demonstrations, concepts, designs and other R&D activities through graphical and mathematical models, virtual reality simulations, computer programming, and statistical analysis to support performance assessments of advanced concepts. Create models (physical, mathematical, or using approved software applications) as logical representations of current and proposed sensors and systems, innovative architectures, and phenomenologies. Understand and document simulation governance (analysis, experimentation, training, basis of estimates) for insight into simulation applicability and boundaries. Support collaboration, coordination, and integration of Modeling and Simulation efforts between programs/activities and with other modeling and simulation activities both internal and external to achieve program goals. Facilitate coordination with subject matter experts, academia, and non-government laboratories to perform modeling, simulation, assessments, or other technical research.
c) Support Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) activities tailored to R&D space-based Capability Demonstration missions and innovative R&D ground solutions through all phases of program lifecycles. Provide technical and analytic ability to review, evaluate, and synthesize multiple disparate sources of information in order to provide defensible technical positions on development activities across the portfolio. Apply SEIT experiences from space, ground and/or communications acquisitions to inform development activities. Conduct SEIT coordination and planning, document SEIT products in accordance with the Enterprise Systems Engineering Management Plan (ESEMP), and support the Chief Engineer(s), Program Managers and COTRs in the execution of activities. Support knowledge management capture and maintenance of the knowledge base of information, using SharePoint and other appropriate tools, by identifying content sources, developing processes, procedures, and methodologies to manage content, and working with program management and support offices.
d) Provide technical and analytic ability in Electro Optical (EO) technologies. Support work to develop EO payloads and processing techniques. Provide analysis of EO component design including material selection, manufacturing approaches, and operational issues.
e) Provide technical and analytic ability in radar technologies and systems, and in systems analysis, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, and operations. Assist in maintaining existing radar tools and algorithms, and facilitate development of new, advanced algorithms.
Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.
