Through the creation, modification, and implementation of designs to address customer needs, the Hydraulics Engineer will be a key player in continued development success. Responsible for interacting with all aspect of the organization to ensure delivery of quality products and meeting customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Lead hydraulic system development projects to contribute to overall larger multi-disciplinary teams and multi-systems project success.
Develop and analyze system and subsystem technical requirements.
Compile input into the creation and modification of designs for components, assemblies and systems.
Coordinate and develop system designs to meet reliability and durability requirements.
Perform calculations to meet defined system performance, efficiently and quality objectives.
Document design through the creation on requirements, drawings, engineering lists, change notices, validation plans, and test reports.
Lead direct and indirect team members, set goals and perform annual reviews.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field AND 7+ years of degreed experience in a lead product development role; experience in automotive, industrial equipment, material handling, agriculture or similar industry preferred.
Prior experience leading the development of hydraulic components and systems including tanks, hoses, fittings, fixed and variable displacement pumps, hydraulic cylinders, open and closed center values, and heat exchangers.
Knowledge of drafting practices and computer automated design software; PTC Creo experience preferred.
Ability to read, create and modify schematic diagrams of hydraulic systems in mobile equipment.
Experience in executing procedures to ensure accuracy in design, testing and documentation.
Advanced knowledge in control systems, electro-hydraulics, sensors, data collection and test methods preferred.
Experience with simulation software such as Automation Studio preferred.
Familiarity in industry standards and best practices related to hydraulic oil properties, cleanliness and filtration preferred.
Ability to take decisive actions to develop products or resolve issues by exhibiting good judgement and a realistic understanding of product issues and potential project roadblocks consistent with business needs.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group and with other cross-functional teams on technical projects.
Advanced computer literacy, including data analysis, project planning and presentations.
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
