We have been retained by our client in Dallas, Texas (far north east Dallas, McKinney) to deliver a C++ Software Engineer on a direct hire basis. You will work as a team to design and develop Visual C++ software applications used for mechanical engineering analysis of computer aided designs (CAD). Software applications and features developed by this software engineering team are used by some of the largest and well-known engineering companies in the United States. These applications interface with major mechanical computer aided design (CAD) systems.
We are seeking degreed candidates with Visual C++ programming experience and a desire to learn mechanical engineering aspects as well as Agile methodologies. This position functions as a critical member of an Agile Scrum team and actively participates in all aspects of software development. Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily Scrum meetings as a member of an Agile Scrum team. Work closely with the team Product Owner to design and implement new software product features and diagnose and fix software defects. Create and maintain automated unit tests on the application code base. Work closely with other software engineers to perform code reviews and respond to issues discovered with code solutions. Work closely with the QA team to validate software changes and fix test failures. Use development tools and development procedures to deliver high-quality maintainable code.
A 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
2-3+ years of work experience developing Visual C++ code with Microsoft’s Visual Studio integrated development environment.
Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with modern source control, defect tracking, and continuous integration systems.
Experience with a unit test framework.
(none of these are required, but are a plus.)
JIRA - bug tracking and agile project management tool by Atlassian.
Bitbucket - web-based version control repository hosting service owned by Atlassian.
Mercurial – a distributed revision-control tool on Microsoft Windows.
Jenkins – an open source automation tool for continuous integration & continuous deployment.
Test Driven Development. Agile. Scrum.
CAD APIs such as: Creo Parametric TOOLKIT, SOLIDWORKS API, HOOPS Exchange / HOOPS Visualize, Inventor SDK, CATIA CAA, CAA V5 for CATIA – with Visual Studio integrated development environment.
Qt GUI Toolkit.
Mechanical engineering design or manufacturing knowledge or desire to learn.

Salary Range: $75,000 – 110,000 / year
