Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this person will be responsible for the design, development, and quality of products. They will contribute as part of the Engineering team, and will take responsibility for technical problem solving, leading project teams, creatively meeting product objectives, and delegating tasks when appropriate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Designs components, weldments, and assemblies for various product lines
Visits dealers and end users to troubleshoot equipment
Develops and maintains a working knowledge Art’s Way equipment
Communicates well within the Engineering Department and production staff
Maintains documentation from prints to parts books and manuals
Assists in the creation of fixtures and work instructions
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
The tasks listed above are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering discipline (Mechanical/Agricultural, etc.) is required
1 year of experience working with agricultural equipment is preferred
1 year of experience with fixture design experience preferred but not required
1 year of experience with troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis experience preferred
1 year of experience with MRP systems and Bill of Material management desired
Excellent verbal communication and practical “hands-on” knowledge of mechanical components and systems
1 year of experience, or equivalent coursework, with 3D modeling software (Solidworks/Pro-E) is required

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
