SFDPW Resident Engineer

AMC Consulting Engineers, Inc. (AMC) providesengineering analysis, design, construction management, and constructioninspection services for transportation infrastructure projects. AMC has earneda reputation for its high level of commitment and performance due to itsability to support its clients with well-qualified and experienced engineersand inspectors in delivering challenging infrastructure projects.

We have immediate need of Resident Engineers withthe following qualifications to provide Construction Management Services insupporting City of San Francisco Public Works Infrastructure Section to overseeits construction projects being performed in the public right of way. Projects include traffic signal work, asphaltconcrete paving, Portland cement concrete construction, sewer pipeinstallation, streetscape and green infrastructure improvements and curb rampconstruction.


  • Experience in administration of Public Works contracts
  • Familiar with contract change process, including monitoring and tracking of field issues, changes and disputes
  • Experience in project coordination to resolve constructability, funding and administrative matters with various Project Managers, Project Engineers and contractors
  • Experience in preparing and processing progress payments, change orders, Record of Negotiations, as-builts, and other construction documents
  • Experienced in Construction Inspection to provide QA oversight and to perform other related Construction Inspector duties, as required
  • Proficient in computers, computer applications, MS Office, text messaging and emails


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or Planning
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California
  • 3+ years of relevant construction experience on public works projects
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
