The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have a significant role in designing and developing mechanical/hardware solutions for TruMed System’s family of products and provide Manufacturing and on-market/customer support to maintain a highly reliable solution in the market. The successful candidate will be required to collaboratively work cross functionally, with internal and external partners, to advance solutions using engineering best practices.
Provide technical guidance, solution, and estimation input into the product’s or project’s conception, design, and initial product specifications.
Analyze product or project requirements and provide technical and functional recommendations.
Provide oversight, guidance, and implement the technical design of solutions that may be implemented internally and/or by third-party vendors.
Research and conduct engineering studies, investigations and proofs of concept; and prepare reports for company leadership to utilize in technical roadmap planning and discussions.
Executes assigned work within the required timeframes, raising any concerns to management as soon as possible.
Develop any required documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts.
Be proactive in developing, proposing, and implementing designs by evaluating problem definition, user needs and requirements, weighing the benefits of each over complexity, cost, level of effort, priority and risk.
Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of expertise.
5-7 years Engineering experience
Experience developing systems that include server/stepper motor/robotic controls.
Experience building systems that require a high level of availability and are fault tolerant.
Desired: Experience with thermal/HVAC-R controls systems.
Desired: Experience with high/low voltage control systems.
Desired: Familiarity with injection molded plastics.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of 3D/CAD modeling software applications, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
Knowledge of computer equipment.
Successful track record of developing hardware solutions for products and shipping production ready solutions.
Sense of urgency, an ability to be able to prioritize daily tasks and issues.
Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Broad technical expertise that will inspire and encourage creative, collaborative problem solving.
Excellent communication skills.
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems/Biomedical Engineering, Physics or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred.
5+ years of experience as an engineer.
Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including off-hours urgent field/technical support.
