DLB Associates is seeking team-oriented, highly motivated Mechanical Engineers with 3+ years experience for our Eatontown, NJ location. This position includes the following responsibilities:
Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.
Assist project manager with project planning and external design team coordination.
Project design including equipment schedules, systems design, design calculations and code review.
Perform field investigations, submittal review, and project closeout documentation.
Preparing contract drawings and specifications.
Must be a lifelong learner with a desire to stay current with the latest technology and techniques to provide innovative design solutions.
Ability to research codes and understand state and local amendments.
The ideal candidate must have the following background:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the design and drafting (using AutoCAD) of electrical power for buildings.
Experience designing comfort cooling and heating systems for various types of buildings (high-rise, multi-use, education, hospital, warehouses, etc.)
Experience designing critical airside and water-side cooling systems for mission critical facilities preferred.
Knowledge of ICC codes (IMC, IECC, IBC, IFC) ASHRAE (90.1, 90.4, 62.1 and others).
Field experience (surveying, inspecting or administering mechanical construction work).
Ability to develop initial design concepts based on client preference.
Have multiple trade exposure and understand how to coordinate items between trades.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency using MS Office Suite.
Ability to effectively and quickly communicate using the computer.
Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, challenging environment both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
PE license, EIT/FE exam is preferred.
