The Quality Engineer will contribute to program performance, verification of product/process conformance and customer satisfaction by providing technical expertise and leadership for executing product assurance engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. Planning, documenting and implementing the Quality Assurance function includes; applying statistical techniques and continuous improvement tools on process, product, and program performance data; supporting source selection and monitoring of critical subcontractors and suppliers; establishing a verification and validation process for the inspection and acceptance of hardware, software, and data deliverables; facilitating project risk and opportunities process; initiating, facilitating, managing, and validating the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions; and support project tailoring, project plan/documentation development, and other activities to establish the project's execution processes.
Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and validation of the Quality Management System in the Business Area site to assure company and contractual quality requirements are satisfied. Creates and executes an effective internal audit strategy to verify the conformance of processes in accordance with the Quality Management System. Responsible for the coordination and execution of monthly Corrective Action Boards (CABs) and Management Reviews. Effective use of metrics and measures, analyzing and reporting program performance information through trend analysis and other tools to provide early warning indicators for the initiation of preventative or corrective actions. Responsible to create presentation materials for upper management including reports to Customers and Government representatives.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Plan, coordinate, and manage ISO 9001 internal audit activities,
Direct the performance of problem solving using root cause analysis and orchestrate corrective action utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills,
Develop corrective and preventative actions and provide feedback communication throughout the entire organization,
Perform root cause analysis under a formal corrective action system,
Review and analyze project and customer requirements, and assist project teams in tailoring and using company procedures, methods, templates and tools,
Collect process/project metrics and lessons learned, review and evaluate process/ project plans and work products and recommend improvements as appropriate,
Identify, collect, and analyze monthly performance and quality metrics, and other statistical data using appropriate methodologies and tools that monitor and measure all aspects of business management system performance, then report the actions implemented to facilitate improvements in these activities and processes,
Direct the maintenance and upkeep of all requisite ISO records, and revises approved quality plans and procedures to meet changing requirements.
Responsible to create presentation materials for upper management including reports to Customers and Government representatives.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in dynamic, highly diverse, cross discipline teams; experience working, interfacing and interrelating with diverse personnel both operational and technical.
Strong and demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, visual, electronic, oral) and interpersonal skills (listening, group facilitation).
Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.
Hands on Experience in a Defense Electronics Prime Contract environment.
ASQ Certified Quality Manager Course and Certification, or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Course and Certification.
Preferred Skills and Education
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification or ISO 9001 Internal Auditing Course preferred
