What the role entails
Effective implementation of the Rio Tinto Asset Management strategy for Concentrator and General Services. This will involve working closely with the execution teams (operations and maintenance) to ensure the assets are maintained at the required level to support IOC’s business objectives.
Effective leadership for the Planning team by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and establishing an effective team process.
Coaching, directing and monitoring planners, maintenance and reliability engineers to successfully develop quality maintenance plans and provide technical support for maintenance execution including QA/QC consistent with established health, safety and environment standards.
Establishing an effective succession plan for the area asset management team and ensure adequate resources are recruited and developed to ensure the sustainable implementation of the Rio Tinto Asset Management Strategy.
Building annual and five-year shutdown schedules for major equipment outages and seek budget approvals as per the asset management process.
Working closing with the Integrated Planning team to produce optimized maintenance schedules which optimize IOC’s value chain on a weekly, three month rolling, annual and five-year time arisen.
Reviewing, challenging and leading activities for the purpose of optimizing maintenance strategies and work execution processes for short, medium and long term equipment maintenance.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the Concentrator and General Services operating and maintenance teams to ensure effective communications and alignment of maintenance and production activities.
Supporting and enabling the establishing health, safety and environment standards within Concentrator and General Services areas.
Preparing maintenance budgets and determining forecasts, capital plans and equipment replacement strategies based upon the tactics to achieve the required asset reliability.
Utilizing business improvement techniques and activities to improve department & business performance.
To be considered for this role, you will have :
Uncompromising commitment to working safely and intelligently
10 years + experience in an industrial environment, experience in asset management
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering degree or related technical field (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
Prior leadership experience and ability to coach, mentor and develop people.
Good communication skill (written and verbal).
Proficient in English
Good understanding and application of the Rio Tinto Asset Management Strategy.
Strong Time management skills.
Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office applications - MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Project
