Technical definition of component, subassemblies and assemblies, geometry and allowed deviations, materials, 2D and 3D data, reference drawings, comparison tables, BOM etc. to meet required functions under all conditions throughout lifetime of the product for the given project
Define required design validation and review validation results against calculations or simulations. Identify and reduce variation and design sensitivity
Assess part quality based on dimensional reports and 3D scans or else and effect of deviations to design intent
Support acquisition efforts: packaging studies, data transfer, customer discussions
Alignment assembly concept with manufacturing best practices, with focus on ease of assembly of components (ProKon) and quality controls through the assembly process to the EOLT
3D and 2D model build-up, alignment to standards, usage of templates considering Supplier, Material, Process, Part and Tool expert feedback under usage of Enventive, DRBFM, DFMEA, Simulation Tests, and any other calculation tools to identify potential failures. Define measures to improve the design and guarantee the function
Design under consideration of work instructions, meeting Design checklist limits
Develop a strong network with the design team, customer team and customer. Improve knowledge of products, specifications, and testing and promote exchange with other design groups, peer reviews
Ensure efficiency in all design activities and project phases. Develop deep knowledge of customer and product requirements and functions. Define Concepts and explore design limits to identify potential issues. Review opportunities for improvement in geometry, materials, manufacturing, tolerances, force flow, stress, acoustics, etc
Take ownership of assigned tasks and all related aspects
Challenge simulation and test results, compare to previous data, correlate with expected results, and identify trends. Establish and keep a base line for reference on future measurements for specific functions
Identify and share best practices, tips, lessons learned in your daily work in team meetings
Keep mindset focus on quality on all steps, increase quality awareness, reduce failure costs
Support all initiatives of the plants, customer, and customer teams
Professional and systematic problem solving
Maintain/ reduce material cost compared to target. Active reduction of development loops and development hours
Benchmark other products: understand differences between Brose products and competitors. Compare previous and newer technology, status on patents
Assist and mentor other designers in best practices, kinematics, customer CAD systems, etc
