Looker Developer / BI Developer
The Business Intelligence [BI] Developer is a member of the BI team that delivers innovative BI solutions and reliable and accurate data marts that help drive business growth and make operations more efficient. This person will be responsible for strengthening our most strategic partner relationships by making valuable business insights easily accessible and actionable.
Design and develop interactive data visualization and dashboards for the benefit of both internal and external stakeholders
Use your existing familiarity with coding to LookML and take advantage of the more advanced features of Looker, such as Looker Blocks
Sit in on partner meetings and collaborate with the business and technical stakeholders to understand their evolving requirements and to deliver practical but innovative solutions to drive real business benefit.
Facilitate discussions to explain our reporting & analytics capabilities
Designs, builds, and deploys BI solutions for both internal and external customers and maintains and supports data analytics platforms.
Translates business needs to technical specifications.
Provides support for operational systems by troubleshooting and testing
Evaluates and improves existing BI systems.
Collaborates with teams to integrate systems.
Develops and executes database queries and conduct analyses.
Assists with the developing best practices for Dashboard design.
Monitor the usage of dashboards in production as another source of feedback and proactively identify opportunities to improve the user experience
Interface with Product teams to ensure upstream and downstream dependencies are identified and incorporated into their roadmaps
Collaborate with Engineering teams for development of new aggregate tables for reporting purposes
Help with go-to-market preparations for new dashboards, including hosting internal training session to ensure business stakeholders understand all the metrics, filters and other features as well as how to interpret the data and translate insights into action
Collaborate with BI team members to prepare training materials, technical documentation, partner presentations and other collateral and enablement materials related to our reporting & analytics products
Troubleshoot any bugs or other issues that are escalated to the Product team for resolution, such as data discrepancies, missing data or trouble using a dashboard or more specific feature
Establish yourself as the subject matter expert on the Looker business intelligence software and a reliable, go-to resource for teams interested in unlocking more value from analytics for our publisher partners

At least intermediate mastery of SQL (a coding challenge will be required)
At least intermediate mastery of one or more other analytics programming languages such as Python or R (this is not a data science or data engineering role)
At least 2+ years intensive experience of end to end Looker implementation with the focus in LookML implementation
At least 5+ years intensive experience working in business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Periscope or Domo
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.

Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.
Required Skills and Experience:
You provide application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project.
- Qualifications: 1-3 years experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
- Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications
- Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications
- Analyzes requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented
- Should have progressing skills in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management.
- Should have baseline skills on Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
