Engineering design of power and control systems related to machine tool motions, position and accuracy. Ensure functional performance, with customer specification and regulatory compliance, of high precision machine tools. Provide conceptual and detail design incorporating power, motion control, in process gaging, and position feedback. Develop cross-functional system integration activities.
Requires highly analytical thinking, organizational and conceptual skills in identifying, planning and implementing a course of action to achieve goals, to include the ability to design, implement, improve and maintain processes.
Coordination and collaboration of engineering related activities with a sister facility in the UK.
Requires ability to combine and organize existing and new ideas and develop a structured approach to problem solving and project completion.
Works under general guidance with considerable freedom of action to accomplish the tasks assigned
Requires ingenuity and creativity to translate ideas into accurate, controllable machinery.

Occasional travel to customer or vendor facilities which may be either domestic or international. Attendance at various seminars, conferences, trade shows or exhibitions may be required.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, with an advanced degree desirable. The candidate will have 5 to 10 years’ experience with technical knowledge of controls systems application to mechanical systems. Additional experience with one or more of the following would be ideal - machine design, industrial fluid power application, and software control of motion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Computer Aided Design, both graphics and analytics. Specific Knowledge and skills of the following:
