NOV is actively recruiting ambitious college/university graduates for a Software Engineer role that will be part of our Pathway Rotational Program. This position is with the Max Drilling Program (MDP) team and will be responsible for developing RigSense 4.0 and WellData 4.0 applications using the Agile software development methodology.

The NOV Pathway Rotational Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 2-to-3-year rotational program. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various groups across NOV. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.

Participants can choose from multiple career track options based on education and career interest. Each career track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation.

Following the Software Engineering career track, the primary responsibilities will be as follows:

  • UI/UX
  • Gathering and composing user requirements based on collaboration with Product Line and the Business
  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, workflows, and sitemaps
  • Develop UI mock-ups to demonstrate application functions and end-user experience
  • Present UI prototypes to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify, triage end-user experience issues, and make necessary adjustments to UX based on collected feedback
  • Quality Assurance
  • Compose manual and automated tests based on JIRA ticket’s business requirements and success criteria
  • Contribute to MDP’s regression test suite
  • Identify, triage, and communicate areas of improvement based on non-functional requirements and the industry’s best practices
  • DevOps
  • Defining and driving improvement to the CI/CD processes in consensus with the larger organization for both cloud and edge environments
  • Ensure the successful integration of code to be built, tested, and deployed
  • Ensure the support infrastructure is in place to support global development and QA team needs for the long term
  • Software Development
  • Work closely with MDP’s UX design team, Product Owners (PO’s), and Product Line Managers (PLM’s) to implement our applications’ features and functionalities
  • Collaborate with the Team Leads and Architects to form the necessary technical designs
  • Contribute to the team’s efforts regarding the front-end and back-end components for RigSense 4.0 (edge) and WellData 4.0 (cloud)
  • Participate in software development activities, such as Program Increment (PI) planning, backlog grooming, technical design sessions, code reviews, unit testing, and PI demos
  • Project Management
  • Planning/coordinating activities for the entire program utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Interfacing with project stakeholders at all levels of management to ensure program priorities and deliverables are aligned with business needs and expectations

  • Self-directed and highly motivated

Pay: $65,348.00 - $138,572.00 per year
