I. JOB TITLE: Program Manager / Sales Representative

Reports to: President & Vice President

II. JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but not limited to, single point contact for project and or customer; technical expertise, quality control, material management, commercial management and change management, develop relationships & present a professional image of Motor City Racks, mandatory cross training to other positions.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

· Follow up each quote to determine if budgetary or a funded project and work with the customer to figure out details that will increase MCR success at winning the PO.

· Add all new contacts to our global list.

· Work with scheduler to ensure schedule is up to date, and realistic to customer and plant expectations.

· Review each job as it is awarded to ensure:

o The quoted value and PO value match and the job is still commercially viable to MCR based no capacity and material costs.

o All the data required to complete the job is collected from the customer and updated on the coversheet. Common items are Ship To Address, FOB Point, Release quantities and dates, Customer Contacts, Special Shipping Instructions, Order Details match the PO, MCR Schedule matches the customer needs, and Change Orders are listed.

· Internal Communication:

o Mandatory attendance on a daily 7:15 current jobs roadblock removal call

o Mandatory attendance on a Tuesday 9 am Program Managers meeting to review quotes, new sales opportunities, and workload.

o Schedule meetings as required with the depts that may put project timing in jeopardy to find out roadblocks and agree on solutions.

o Attend in person or via phone scheduled Plan of Record meetings for the jobs providing the learning or key points for jobs.

· External Communication:

o Complete customer timing websites or spreadsheets to prescribed customer rules.

o Attend all customer design buy offs, performance reviews, line ups or negotiate an appropriate alternative internally

o Respond to all customer email queries within the same business day with an answer or an agreed time for an answer.

o Respond to all customer calls or phone messages within the same business day.

· For design jobs:

o Liaise between MCR Engineers, and customers to ensure the plan of record is documented and complete. Where new items arise get them answered quickly and accurately to keep the project moving.

o Schedule meetings as required to remove roadblocks and keep the customer up to date on progress. Communicate where final timeline may be in jeopardy and negotiate new milestone as required in writing.

o Manage revision levels to the customer resolving commercial issues before advancing. For example once a prototype is sent or a print signed off revision 1 is complete. Further updates will almost always require additional funding. These new revision levels will require new order details on cover sheets for design or proto modifications.

o Manage donor racks or prototypes to the shop performing the work.

o Manage the disposal or removal of out of date prototypes from our yards.

o Be present for customer lineup meetings to take notes on lessons learned or critical characteristics to meet.

o Be present for customer prototype reviews to take notes and drive required changes through MCR depts.

o Know customer specifications to review design and prototypes ensuring compliance.

o Solve customer packaging challenges through direct experience or pulling from the decades of MCR packaging experience.

· For build to print jobs:

o Ensure the revision level print from the quote is the revision to build. Once confirmed if different levels kick off the commercial revision process (F.O.C “Field Order Change”). Proceeding any further requires management approval.

o Monitor the “bouncing ball”. Ensure Engineering release, then purchasing, then prep, then fixturing, then welding, then shipping do not jeopardize the customer timing on a project.

o Ensure you complete a first article on each of your jobs and where delegated that a copy of the paperwork is received in your email for review. Each shop completes hundreds of jobs for dozens of customers, so the attention to detail will never be as good as your own.

o Proactively communicate any delays to the customer delivery.

· Job Costing:

o Be a resource for the specifics behind a project to determine if cost overruns were internal or a potential F.O.C.

o Review with logistics specifically if the freight was within budget or if extra shipments were required.

· Complete required paperwork according to ISO 9001:2015 standard.

· Remain accessible to all hourly and salary employees for assistance, guidance and support whenever needed.

· Present a professional image of Motor City Racks, and a personal commitment to the safety and well-being of all employees.

· Participate in continuous improvements, 5S and 8 Waste initiatives, including and not limited to processes, production flow etc.

· Perform all other duties as required

· Mandatory cross training required; training will be provided.
