Your main focus in this role will be creating accurate, automated work-orders for our manufacturing areas including material & labour allocations in the ERP system using the configuration rules engine. The work orders must effectively communicate product specifications and must match our manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will be a key resource in the analysis and implementation of technology on the shop floor and in the office. This position will appeal to candidates who are interested in system implementation, project planning and the software design process. The results of your work will be used daily by our Operations team.
The ideal candidate will:
Create new programs and modifying existing programs in the configuration system based on engineering drawings and shop floor feedback.
Identify areas of opportunity for the application of technology in the business.
Be a technical representative to all levels of employees.
Field questions regarding system issues and system capabilities.
Participate on cross functional continuous improvement teams.
Ask questions for clarification directly to shop floor Cell Leaders, Lead Hands and Design Engineers as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Create reports as requested using Crystal Reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
Completed a Computer Science or Engineering degree.
Experience with SQL would be an asset.
Experience with engineering drawings & manufacturing processes (asset).
Excellent Communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
Excellent customer service skills. Lean training (asset).
The ability to work on projects independently and as part of a team.
The ability to quickly learn systems and procedures.
The ability to multi-task, process multiple requests and prioritize them accordingly.
