Cree | Wolfspeed's Global Operations is seeking a Manufactuing Engineer to join the team! This job opportunity is for a manufacturing engineer experienced in semiconductor back-end assembly and test supporting the volume production of silicon carbide power electronic modules in Fayetteville, Arkansas and contract manufacturers throughout Asia. The candidate should be familiar with die attach processes, solder reflow, wire bonding, dispensing, transfer molding, end of line testing, X-ray/CSAM inspection, and have volume manufacturing experience. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the electronics or semiconductor industries.
This position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

What can you do for Cree | Wolfspeed?
Project management focused on product transition from pilot manufacturing to mass production manufacturing at contract manufacturers
Establish and drive yield enhancement and quality improvements both internal and at contract manufacturers
Recommend and implement equipment modifications to improve production efficiencies
Lead and/or assist in setting up equipment, production lines, and processes internally and at contract manufacturers
Lead and help implement process changes and process change review boards
3D CAD such as SolidWorks and have experience in designing machined fixturing and tooling, sheet metal part trays, automated part feeding, dimensioned prints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, product data management systems, etc. for a production environment.
Develop and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting process optimization and high yield process controls for electronics packaging manufacturing processes
Design for manufacturability: Interact with product design engineers and process engineers to ensure that processes and designs are compatible and optimized for future products and capable for implementation at contract manufacturers. Provide technical and engineering support as part of the manufacturing team as products move from prototype to high volume manufacturing.
What you need for success:
BS, MS and PhD preferred in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Process Engineering or Applied Science
Experience in high volume manufacturing
Good analytical and problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. Excellent English communication skills (i.e. verbal, written, and presentation)
Hands on experience on engineering methods such as FMEA, SPC, Pareto Analysis, Control Charts, 8D methodology and DoE.
Six sigma, lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement experience
International travel required
Highly preferred skills and certifications:
Expertise and industry experience in power module, power semiconductor, or wide bandgap electronics packaging or assembly in a volume manufacturing environment
Experience with contract manufacturer management
Experience in one or more of the following areas: power electronics/modules packaging, statistical analysis software, finite element engineering design and modeling tools
