WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager/Technical Lead for our Portland, OR office. This person will will promote and lead small to large scale waterfront and marine facilities projects. Position requires experience leading a multi-discipline technical design team of in-house staff and sub-consultants to plan and subsequently prepare construction documents, reports, and estimates for piers, wharves, dry docks, bulkheads, and shore-side facilities. This position also requires technical design background in at least one of the following areas: waterfront facility planning and design, seismic assessment/design of piers/bulkheads, performance-based design of piers and wharves, fender systems, dredging, procurement specifications, as well as experience with ASCE 7, ASCE 61, IBC, and ACI standards and permitting processes (building and environmental). Substantial working knowledge and ability to manage other technical disciplines, including materials handing systems, utilities and construction related to heavy-civil/marine projects. The Project Manager will coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, and organization of engineers and designers to produce project deliverables. The Project Manager will also support all phases of the business development effort ranging from project identification, research, proposal writing, interviews with clients, client development and maintenance. Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience
MSCE, or equivalent additional experience
P.E. license, S.E. license preferred
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Proven mentoring and leadership ability
