Your Role & Responsibilities
Represent all areas of Engineering as single (on-site) point of contact to the customer. (This includes CAE, Testing, Prototype, and Advanced Engineering).
Coordinate technical activities for customer projects.
Coordinate and maintain CAD data exchange (2D and 3D) between MAHLE and the customer.
Conduct packaging studies and interference checks in customer’s vehicle CAD environment (Windchill/Creo)
Create and update cooling module drawings in customer’s data management system.
Support project management activities in accordance with MAHLE’s PDP principles.
Support the development team in the following activities/tasks: DVP&R, DFMEA, preliminary BoM releases, costings, design reviews, DFA reviews, DFM reviews, customer/supplier visits, tool builds.
Monitor and track the part qualification and certification process and provide regular updates to the project team.
Initiate and lead product quality improvements and cost reductions activities
Keep MAHLE project team informed of critical issues and concerns about projects
Identify, communicate, and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Your Skills & Strengths
B.S. in Engineering required, Mechanical preferred
Three years experience in R&D or manufacturing engineering.
Extensive engineering knowledge of materials and their applications
Demonstrated level of expertise in latest release of Pro/E and/or Intralink/Windchill/Creo and Catia V5
Basic knowledge in GD&T
Knowledge in designing heat exchangers or other engine components a plus.
Solid knowledge in sheet material fabrication, plastic injection molding, or aluminum die casting
Working knowledge of TS-16949/IATF-16949 requirements
Awareness of product cost structure and consequences
Basic knowledge in Project Management principles
