We are currently looking to add intermediate and senior Water and Wastewater Engineers to our team of talented employees across the Atlantic region. Successful candidates will be motivated self-starters and be seen by their peers as leaders. You will join our established design team of professionals and provide direction to junior staff, manage projects and clients, collaborate with other senior staff, and conduct business development activities. The work location may be based in any of our regional CBCL offices, or at other locations as deemed appropriate.
Typical projects include design and upgrades for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and hydraulic structures.
Provide preliminary, pre-design and detailed treatment process engineering design services;
Manage the design of engineering projects for water and wastewater facilities including treatment, distribution and collection systems;
Complete all aspects of internal and external project management services including financial management, resource management, change order management, and invoicing;
Provide mentoring and technical support to junior staff members;
Conduct business development activities such as responding to proposals, attending conferences, and maintaining working relationships with clients;
Participate in internal meetings with other project managers to discuss resources and potential business opportunities;
Work with clients, suppliers, technical staff and contractors as required from project initiation to completion;
Proactively manage projects to monitor costs, maintain progress and evaluate alternative solutions.
Minimum seven (7) years’ preferred in consulting engineering or related industry;
Earned a Degree in Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering;
Be registered, or have the ability to register with Engineers Nova Scotia;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
At least 5 years’ experience working on water and wastewater projects;
Knowledge of MS Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project);
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Possess strong interpersonal, organization and time management skills;
Have the ability to work in a deadline oriented environment;
Hold a valid Driver’s License and willing to travel occasionally.
