As a Lead 3D Technical Artist, you will be responsible for the front lines of cutting-edge real-time graphics and technology development. This role helps develop future technology by continually looking for areas to enhance the team’s current methods of content creation with innovative and optimized workflows and pipelines. This Technical Artist helps deliver the creative and innovative artistic possibilities for the studio.
Develops improved content creation pipelines, processes, and workflows. Providing documentation and mentors the content creation teams to fully take advantage of our tools and technology.
Lead, influence and collaborate with global engineering, production and product teams on workflow methods, tools and pipeline.
Creatives sample content to prove out new workflows and demonstrates visual or efficient improvements.
Excellent creative and technical problem-solving skills.
Remains current with the technological developments and advancements throughout the 3D and game industry. Creates research cutting edge approaches to 3D content creation in support of the creative process from a usability standpoint.

About you: (4-7 bullet points)
Bachelor's degree in 3D art, design, computer science or equivalent.
7+ years in architectural visualization or in creating photo realistic 3D imagery.
Strong knowledge of 3DsMax as it pertains content creation and scripting (animation, modeling high and low poly assets, texturing, rigging).
Strong knowledge of Python.
Experience in node-based shader networks such as those found in Unreal Engine
Strong grasp of mathematical concepts and analysis techniques as they apply to technical art.
Experience influencing, communicating and driving change across organizational and cross functional boundaries.
Understanding of 3D scanning and AR/VR technologies and workflows.
Knowledge of C++
Experience in performance managing and motivating others.
Action oriented, with ability to prioritize and drive results.
Ability to facilitate and clarify project expectations, objectives, and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity.
This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,300-146,400.
