As MISO’s Information Security Engineer, apply your knowledge of the latest cyber security industry trends, technology tools and practices. Be a part of this critical team that shuts down suspicious activities and prevents cyber threats from disrupting electric grid activities. You’ll have the opportunity to get your hands terabytes-deep into logging and monitoring solutions, malware prevention, vulnerability management and more. You’ll have ownership and autonomy to make decisions even as you’re challenged to solve complex business and security problems. Starting off in this role, you’ll implement malware solutions, do patch and vulnerability management, network security control, logging and monitoring, incident responses, and ongoing cloud operationalization. You’ll also be part of an on-call rotation responding to alarms and events.
What we are looking for:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
- An understanding of security applications and services to manage threats
- Some technical, hands-on proficiency with security related systems and applications (examples: vulnerability software, next generation firewalls, SIEM, malware protection)
- Coding or command line experience (Unix or Windows command line)
