JENSEN HUGHES is seeking a talented CFD engineer in Baltimore, MD or Blacksburg, VA with interests in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal-fluid sciences for engineering consulting work. Our Baltimore, MD office is our Corporate HQ and located near BWI and convenient from Howard County, MD. The position will be for the Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation (RDTE) division. This exciting group includes an interdisciplinary team of CFD engineers, Finite Element Modeling (FEM) engineers, machine learning engineers and laboratory/testing engineers.

The position will require understanding of computational models and underlying transport mechanisms used to solve a variety of fluid flow problems. Specific areas include fluid dynamics, heat transfer, combustion, fire dynamics, dispersion and explosion analysis. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team using commercial software tools such as ANSYS Fluent, FLACS, FDS and ABAQUS. These tools will be used to solve physics-based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, fire and smoke analysis, fugitive leak of flammable and combustible gases.

Ideal candidates will have a PhD in an engineering discipline emphasis on thermal-fluid sciences.
Demonstrated experience in understanding and using modern CFD tools, such as ANSYS, with ability to model turbulence, species transport and heat transfer mechanisms.
Understanding of numerical algorithms for both compressible and incompressible flow applications.
Familiarity with software development for writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB and C++.
