This position is for an Aeronautical Engineer within the External Loads Discipline. Specific responsibilities will include analyses of static external loads for existing or new design aircraft. The analyst will calculate flight/ground static air and inertia loads for airframe and sub components, landing gear, stores, etc. Development of static external aircraft loads requires understanding fundamentals of aerodynamic pressure distributions as well as rigid body dynamics. Developing and maintaining software tools and load databases are also typical assignments. In addition, supporting flight and ground testing may be required which may include anomaly resolution and correlation of load models. The analyst will also interpret aircraft usage from fleet aircraft, flight test aircraft, and from requirements documents. The group works within a team environment with a lead engineer guiding and directing the analyses and activities of the engineer.
This position is located at an access controlled facility, only US Citizens may be considered. This position will require a government security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical
discipline such as Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
