Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical and Structural Design Engineer for our team in North Charleston, SC. The design engineer will be an integral member of the Propulsion South Carolina team, providing design support and solutions to a wide ranging list of programs, projects and components.

Position Responsibilities:
Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
Assists with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Works under close supervision.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is expected to be onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. May include hybrid work opportunities.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in: Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Material Science Engineering
Experience in Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA and PDM
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent cross-functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Nacelle Structures design/analysis
Production engineering experience
Excellent problem solving skills
Typical Education & Experience. Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
