The Indeed Hiring Platform (IHP) team enables employers to automate the screening and scheduling of candidates, whether they are delivered by Indeed’s job advertising ecosystem or provided by the employer. IHP is optimized for enterprise employers, to enable hiring at scale by letting jobseekers RSVP to an interview in lieu of applying for a job, effectively skipping directly to an interview. This platform also provides a reliable virtual space to conduct interviews over video or phone.
The IHP RSVP Service team is seeking an experienced back-end software engineer to help us break apart our python monolith application into GraphQL powered microservices.

Responsibilities:
Help drive the technical direction of the product and mentor others across teams
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate product needs into domain-driven services and APIs
Incrementally decompose an existing monolithic application into services and APIs
Build back-end systems using GraphQL, Apache Kafka and Java frameworks (such as Spring Boot)
Continually improve our technical stack and processes
Maintain existing tools and infrastructure as necessary
Who You Are
You will be responsible for entire projects, from working with a Product Manager and Engineers on the problem being solved, possible solutions, the design, implementation and analytics. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength and good product ideas.
We're looking for someone who:

Is willing to work in a tech stack deemed most suitable for the project
Is excited to work on testing a variety of product ideas, either currently underway or conceived in the future
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
3+ years of experience in a combination of the following:
Experience in application development, including services development in Java (or similar OO languages)
Experience with service-oriented architectures, APIs including GraphQL, gRPC, Protobuf, and REST
Experience with event-driven architectures that handle high throughput data streams (Kafka, SQS/SNS)
Understanding of measuring reliability through SLAs/SLOs and driving a culture centered on operational metrics
Experience decomposing a monolithic application of moderate complexity into services
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
