Location: Central Point, OR
As a Quality Process Engineer you will be responsible for supporting continual improvement of the Quality/Business Management Systems (AS9100/AS9110) by facilitating and tracking root cause/corrective action activities through collaboration with and support from process owners, facilitating and coaching problem-solving workshops & events with internal customers, and supporting process improvements or revisions as required to align with current and changing business needs and/or audit findings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to review audit results and findings as needed to ensure effective root cause analysis of processing problems or challenges.
Facilitates and leads project teams of specialists, process owners, or other staff as necessary to assure the completion of process improvement implementation.
Uses analytical and logical approach to troubleshoot deficiencies and resolve issues through effective use of basic problem-solving techniques, Lean tools and principles, coaching and communication with process owners, and corrective actions.
Defines best practices and facilitates a culture of process discipline and standardization
Assists process owners in the development of KPI metrics and suitable data collection methods.
Coaches and mentors process owners as needed to assure their understanding and effective use of trend analysis and data driven decision making.
Provides process analysis, ensuring quality standards are met and proposing quality improvements.
Assures sustainability of process improvements and corrective actions through 30/60/90-day verification audits prior to corrective action final closure.
Collaborates w/applicable functional leadership to monitor and measure/validate (new/adjusted) process outputs as needed.
Assists in maintaining QMS by facilitating reviews and revising policies/procedures in accordance with AS9100 and AS9110.
Supports facilitation of bi-annual AS9100/9110 Management Reviews.
Supporst during Erickson external QMS audits as needed.
Responsible for proper handling of proprietary data and DOD sensitive materials/data.
Manages reporting and performance metrics for Quality department.
Presents Quality/Business Management System results to various site/business leadership team members as needed.
Represents the Quality department on special projects as assigned.
Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates attention to detail. Must be computer literate and efficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other common business operating system environments.
Requires the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, complex data, specifications, and other technical documentation. Uses intuition and experience to complement data. Designs work flows and procedures.
Possesses the ability to generate creative solutions. Translates concepts and information into simplified written and visual instruction or training material. Uses stakeholder feedback to modify and improve solutions.
Exceptionally strong ability to communicate at all levels within the organization and the ability to summarize and explain complex technical situations.
Competent in dealing with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
Possesses a strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, and practices.
ISO9001, AS9100, AS9110, or other globally recognized Quality Management Systems Internal Auditor training preferred.
BS in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or Related field of study. Professional experience in lieu of degree may be considered for the right candidate.
Minimum of 5 years of experience within an industrial manufacturing setting with 5+ years of technical and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace or other transportation industry.
