Technical lead for I.T. Systems in the areas of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, and VMware for all data center locations.
Responsibilities includes:
Primary administrator of SCDOT's Microsoft Windows Server environment. This includes the design, deployment, and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems. This also includes the administration of Windows Server at all data centers including the primary data center at HQ, the secondary center and the seven district locations.
Primary administrator for SCDOT's Windows Active Directory Service (ADS), this includes the design, deployment, and support of all ADS servers. This also includes the administration and synchronization of SCDOT's on-premise AD with Microsoft's cloud based Office 365.
Primary administrator for SCDOT's hybrid email environment. This includes the design, deployment and support of Exchange email servers, SMTP gateway servers, Microsoft's cloud-based Office 365 servers, and Cisco Secure Email SPAM filters.
Primary administrator of SCDOT's cloud-based Office 365 environment. This includes the design, deployment, and support of Microsoft's cloud-based platform for Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. This includes managing 3000+ user accounts using Microsoft's administration tools to ensure that SCDOT employees have access to email services and Office products.
Primary administrator of SCDOT' s VMWare ESX server environment. This includes the design, deployment, and maintenance of Virtual Servers and hosts for performance, redundancy, and failover. This includes the administration of VMWare at all data centers including the primary data center at HQ, the secondary center and the seven district locations.
Primary administrator of the VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) environment in the secondary data center/disaster recovery site. This includes managing the synchronization of primary and secondary data center servers using VMware Site Recovery Manager, to create and test disaster recovery plans for SCDOT's virtual server environment.
Secondary administrator of SCDOT's physical server and Storage Area Network (SAN) environments in the 8 data center locations. This includes 24/7/365 availability to respond to server and SAN hardware failures statewide. This includes the monitoring, maintenance, and support of all server based hardware. This includes managing the proper and secure disposal of server-based hardware and the diagnosis and resolution of hardware failure events.
Primary administrator of SCDOT's McAfee Virus Protection. This includes the deployment and administration of McAfee EPO server and McAfee client software on all SCDOT's servers.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and three (3) years of experience in computer systems development and modification, or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
