This position will support the development of Marine High Voltage Products which are being developed and launched from our Lowell, MI facility.
We are seeking Engineering Co-ops to join our engineering team in Lowell, MI. Responsibilities of this position vary depending on your experience each semester. These responsibilities may include:
Mentorship from a seasoned Electrical Engineer
Introduction to product development environment
Benchmarking competitive high voltage battery packs
Investigating component and system performance through research, paper studies and hands-on testing
Testing cells, modules, and packs
Building and exercising 1D simulation models of battery packs, power handling components and vessel systems
Test fixture design
Battery management system design and testing
Project performance validation
Embedded system programing

Successful candidates will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of higher education is preferred. Candidates must have:
Good interpersonal skills
The ability to coordinate numerous projects in a professional and ethical manner
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred
MATLAB/SIMULINK or other 1D software experience would be helpful but is not required
Boating, fishing and/or marine industry experience is beneficial but not required
