Building Commissioning Project Engineer, FTE 4 Day Workweek
Elevate is a commissioning engineering firm, located in Portland, Oregon and we are seeking a full-time Building Commissioning Engineer. We are a small family business with a current team of five people. Our standard workweek of 4 days is unique, and we are proud of our inclusive team.
We are excited to be growing with passionate engineers who enjoy using and improving their skill set to solve problems using an engineering methodology. Our style of service to our clients requires significant time spent in the field working with controls systems and all types of building systems.
The Employee We Are Seeking:
- Excitement for joining a small and growing team with a mission to improve building performance
- Understanding of the building commissioning process and how it enhances the quality of the project
- Experience, knowledge and comfort evaluating and testing onsite HVAC systems and equipment
- Experience, knowledge and comfort with Building Automation Systems and diagnostics
- Experience working with contractors
- Experience managing project deliverables and budgets (project management)
- Successful technical writing and editing skills using Microsoft 365 products
- Desire to quickly learn other software products that we use
- Excellent writer with a good grasp of customer service skills that are required to maintain client relationships
- A craving to learn and become an expert in what we like to call “building forensics”
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
- 1+ years of experience working as a Commissioning Provider or Design Engineer
- Facilities and building controls experience considered instead of an Engineering background
- TAB experience considered instead of an engineering background
- Building automation controls experience including controls sequence improvement, logic diagram reading and trend log analysis
- Physically able to perform duties on a job site including climbing ladders and working full days on a job site that may not be conditioned with heat or air conditioning
- Punctuality with the ability to travel to job sites with a personal vehicle (mileage and travel is reimbursed)
