Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Principal Engineer Material Process to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Electrical Material & Processing Labs (EMPL) needs an Engineer to support Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) Lab as a lead. DPA Lab Lead will be responsible from day-to-day activities for ~10 people who perform DPA lab tasks such as DPA testing per applicable specifications (M273876, Mil-Std-883, Mil-Std-750, Mil-Std-1580, etc.), part and material qualification testing, cross-section testing, visual inspection, failure analysis tasks, and other DPA Lab tests. DPA Lab Lead will be responsible from tasks such as assigning tasks to staff, communicating status & issues with all stakeholders (programs, functional, etc), maintaining lab equipment, and supporting the EMPL Section Manager with other tasks as needed. Candidate should have extensive experience with Military Standards such as Mils-Std-1580, Mil-Std-750, Mil-Std-883, Mil-Std-202. Experience with NGAS PIN specs is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to summarize and present data to customers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) degree & 5 years of Destructive Physical Analysis Lab experience, Master's Degree & 3 years of experience, or PhD Degree & 0 years experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Materials Process
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a role
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
