The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Automation & Converting Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Develop project plans and lead critical Automation and Robotics Integration projects, from development through implementation, working with manufacturing, business, and product development staff.
Develop new automated equipment designs and new automated manufacturing processes for 3M products produced in the Knoxville Facility.
Ensure that quality, efficiency, yield, and capability goals are met.
Implement new technologies and processes to commercialize new products; implement innovative solutions to solve process problems and realize opportunities (quality, service, cost)
Drive innovation within our operations using both internal and external technologies
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in Engineering
Excellent team player willing to take on challenging assignments.
Strong communication and good critical thinking skills
Demonstrated track record of delivering results
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing/Industrial, Robotics, or Automation Engineering from an accredited University
Experience with SCADA or Process Instrumentation & Control Systems engineering (PI&CS).
Experience working with information technology systems, programming, and network systems.
Four (4) years engineering experience related to this assignment.
Two (2) years Process &/or Project Engineering Experience with Robotics or Automation equipment in a manufacturing plant.
Prior experience leading a team and working in a cross-division multi-function team
Experience in statistical analysis
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation Assistance: Is authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
