STIHL Inc. has an immediate opening for an Engineering Leader in our Machining department! You will have the opportunity to guide, focus and grow the Process Engineers and Machining department. Reporting directly to the Machining Unit Manager, the position will be responsible to:

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises, coordinates and guides Process Engineer team members in obtaining, organizing, and analyzing data used to resolve production issues.
Organizes, schedules and monitors workloads and distributes work to team members. Maintains documentation pertinent to assignments.
Assists with candidate selection process and fosters environment of team growth and training.
Makes decisions on problem resolutions, technical improvements, equipment recommendations, work methods, impact on cost, quality and accuracy.
Maintains records, files, and other documentation pertinent to special and regular assignments performed.
Coordinates the resolution of part or product solutions together with STIHL R&D. Makes corrections and update drawings together with the design department. Resolves quality problems in collaboration with the quality assurance department.
Investigates design proposals for improving equipment performance or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control. Develops new production processes and estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Manages projects for new processes, parts or design changes.
Improves machine reliability, processes and works to reduce costs.
Manage the addition and implementation of new machines and automation.
Confers with management, engineering, and other Departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Planning and improving production results with regards to safety, quality, productivity and scrap.
Maintains currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.
4 year college degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing or related discipline.
8+ years with machining process, equipment, and materials.
Experience in a high volume piston or crankshaft machining environment (combustion engine) highly preferred.
5+ years of supervisory experience (preferred in machining).
