Summary:
The Network Engineer – Level II is responsible for providing network support to operational computer networks.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, install, and maintain local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, servers, routers, modems, and cabling.
- Manage all aspects of data communication, including terminals, local area networks, remote installations, modem communications, and network security.
- Write detailed description of user needs, network functions, and steps required to develop or modify network.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security and backup insuring data accuracy, security and legal and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configuration and cabling layouts.
- Research and implement security and firewall strategies.
- Consult on computer operation scheduling, backup storage, and retrieval functions.
- Plan and manage local and remote network hardware installations, data center security administration and network service desk operation.
- Coordinate the installation of point-of-sale electronic order entry, remote computer equipment and telecommunication systems (both voice and data).
- Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Manage projects from conception through delivery, including information gathering, plan development, resource management, budget compliance, scheduling, project performance, and client relationships.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and ensure organizational compliance.

Qualifications:
Strong technical orientation; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills; professional
demeanor and leadership abilities; capable of comfortably meeting with customers at all levels; thorough knowledge of the project planning process; ability to show proof of valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Education and/or
Experience:
2 yr. technical. degree or equivalent experience is required.
B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent experience preferred. 3 -5 years experience in network environment.
Language Skills:
Ability to fluently speak and understand English.
Computer Skills:
Must be familiar with WAN, Network Protocols, Network Operating Systems, LAN topology and software including
ETHERNET, MSAU, security systems, servers, routers, switches, Citrix, LAN bridges and gateways.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
MCSE – Microsoft Certified System Engineer; Network Operating Certificates (i.e. Novell, Citrix).
Travel Requirements:
Local usually 50 miles radius
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of
Electrical shock. This position requires regular lifting up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional

Work Environment:
Shelby Office and various customer locations within 1 hour travel.
Salary Range:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
