Summary of Role:
A full time software Engineer to work in a team of twenty electrical engineers on the development of custom mmWave semiconductor test equipment. The engineer will interface with a senior C++ software engineer and a remote software team in Bangalore India to create simplified software for the test process. The work involves the development of hardware drivers, GUI interfaces and the generation of higher level test functions to increase code reuse. The engineer will have experience using C++ in a Linux environment. This is a great opportunity for engineers interested in automation and robotics where the software drives the movement of hardware and interfaces with electronics. The engineer will be at the ground floor of a growing mmWave test business within Globalfoundries. The engineer will work in a highly skilled team of BS, MS and PHd EE, CS and ME engineers inventing and continuously improving our systems for testing mmWave semiconductors. We are looking for engineers willing to continuously innovate in the leading edge design of mmWave testers for 77GHz Radar phased array sensors, 53GHz 5GHz phases array transceivers and 140GHz 6G antenna in package transceivers.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Write programs using C++ in a Linux environment
Use of the GIT source control system
Interface with a senior programmer, and a team of electrical engineers
Work with a team of engineers consolidating and documenting requirements
3 years experience writing software at the Java or C++ programming level
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
Education – MSCS or CE – Computer Science or Computer Engineering
C++ Programming in a Linux environment
Knowledge of the GIT source control system
Language Fluency – English
Physical Capacity Demands – ability to use a computer
Available for work in Burlington Vermont
Must be physically located in Burlington and work on site
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years Experience programming in a C++ Linux environment
Experience programming in Python
Experience working and consolidating requirements from a group of engineers
